Need a quick dinner? A meal on the table in minutes, that tastes delicious? One of my husband’s (Mark) favorite dishes, is Trader Joe’s Orange Chicken. It is delicious on its own, but doctored up it’s even better! The cost of the Orange Chicken is $4.95 a bag. We can easily feed the two of us on one bag. We like to chop up and add the following:
Onions, Thinly Sliced
Mushrooms, Sliced
Green and Red Pepper, Rough Dice
Snow Peas
Cashews
Add anything in that tickles your fancy! We use Coconut Oil and butter to cook our Orange Chicken in, and I think it makes a world of difference. Follow package directions, adding your favorite veggies in at 8 minutes into cooking. (Total cook time is 10 minutes. Make sure to pull that pan off the burner at the 10 minute mark, so as not to over cook the veggies! This is the time the orange sauce gets put in the skillet and the cashews.) Make a side of rice to go with it and serve at once. (Even the picky Grand Kids like this!!) I’ve tried so many Orange Chicken Recipes that are on the internet, and while delicious, I’d really like an orange sauce that come close to the taste of this. If anyone has a recipe for Orange Chicken that has a really nice, tasty orange taste and comes close to this, email me, I’d love to hear from you! I’d love to end my search for the perfect Orange Chicken! (In the meantime, I’ll keep hunting, experimenting and serving this from Trader Joe’s!
